Build for the working lawyer.
We're a small team building a legal AI platform for the lawyers actually doing the work. We're looking for operators, builders, and craftspeople who'd rather ship something useful than talk about shipping something useful.
We're hiring for taste, judgment, and range. Resumes are useful. The work you've actually shipped is more useful.
The mission, in plain terms.
We exist to liberate legal minds from drudgery so they—and the clients they serve—can flourish.
A solo practitioner and an AmLaw 100 associate face the same legal question. One has six figures of AI tooling. The other has Google. We don't think that's the way it should be. Every company deserves to be protected.
Building White Shoe means closing that gap — putting elite legal capabilities in every lawyer's hands. The work is technical, the standard is craft, and the audience is people who've been let down by legal tech before. We're here to be the version they actually use.
Four principles, held firmly.
These aren't aspirations on a wall. They're the filters we use to make decisions, hire teammates, and decide what to ship.
Ship the work.
We move in inches and weeks, not committees and quarters. Real change happens in the daily movement of water over stone — until one day the landscape has shifted.
Customer flourishing first.
If a choice doesn't measurably improve a lawyer's clarity, confidence, or capacity, we don't pursue it. The work has to be useful in the real world. Otherwise it doesn't count.
Operators, not theorists.
We've negotiated the rates. Run the RFPs. Sat through the panel reviews. We build for the lawyers actually doing the work because we are the lawyers actually doing the work — or we work alongside them every day.
No busywork. No theater.
Slide decks for slide decks' sake. Process for process's sake. We have no patience for any of it. Bring substance or bring something else.
What we're hiring for.
We hire deliberately. When a role opens, it's because the work genuinely needs another set of hands — not to pad headcount or impress investors.
No open roles right now — but we always want to meet good people.
If you'd be a fit for the work we're doing — legal, engineering, design, go-to-market — send a note. Tell us what you've built, what you care about, and what kind of work you want to do next. We read everything.
Where the work happens.
Boston is home base. Austin is our second axis. Most of the team works remote-first — we get together in person for kickoffs, customer visits, and the kind of conversations that don't survive a video call.
We hire where we find good people. We don't make anyone relocate to prove they're serious.

Help us liberate legal work.
Whether there's an open role posted or not, we want to hear from people who'd build this with us. Tell us what you've shipped, what you care about, and what you'd want to work on next.
Built by lawyers. For lawyers. Headquartered in Boston, with a second base in Austin and teammates wherever the work calls for them.
