02 · How It Works

Connect. Authenticate. Work.

Three movements. No new portal. The model already knows how to call a tool — we hand it the right ones.

i.
Install

Add the White Shoe server

Open the White Shoe setup guide, copy the server URL, and add it to a supported remote-MCP client.

ii.
Authenticate

Sign in once

Sign in to White Shoe and approve scoped OAuth access. Connections are tied to the user and workspace and can be revoked from Connected Apps.

iii.
Work

Ask in your AI

Ask in a compatible client. White Shoe returns only the workspace context and actions allowed by the user's plan, permissions, and granted scopes.

03 · Specimen

A question, answered — with your Firm IQ.

Ask the question in the AI you already use. The Associate handles the rest, in the client where the lawyer already is.

04 · What It Surfaces

Four surfaces. One server.

The MCP server exposes supported workspace capabilities as tools and resources, filtered by the authenticated user's plan, scopes, and permissions.

Firm IQi.

Your firm, queryable

Retrieve enabled company profiles, style rules, and effective Firm IQ settings from the authenticated workspace.

Playbooksii.

Positions, looked up

Negotiation positions, fallback language, and risk thresholds — looked up in plain language by the model, returned in the structure your team already uses.

Workspace knowledgeiii.

Find governed context

Search Briefcase, Knowledge Base, matters, and repository metadata. Available sources depend on the user's workspace access and plan.

Workspace actionsiv.

Make approved changes

With an explicit write scope, save a document to Briefcase or add a matter note. Every action remains subject to White Shoe authorization.

05 · Why It Works

The AI you already use.

The team already knows Claude. They already use ChatGPT. The legal context should show up where the thinking is — not behind a new login.

i.

No new surface to learn.

The team already lives in their AI client. The firm's brain shows up there too — same model, same UI, more context.

ii.

The model gets smarter about your firm.

MCP gives the model access to Firm IQ, your playbooks, and your repository — so the answer isn't generic, it's yours.

iii.

Counsel-grade security.

Scoped, revocable OAuth access over HTTPS. The connected AI client receives authorized tool results, and its provider's separate retention and training terms still apply.

06 · Connect MCP

Your firm's brain. In every AI you use.

Bring your own model.

Bring your own firm.
